How does a print make every shade from two inks?
What you’ll see
This picture uses only two inks, pink and blue. So where do the soft shades and the purple come from? Halftone: each ink is laid down as a grid of tiny dots. Where the image is dark, the dots grow fat and merge; where it is light, they shrink to specks. Your eye blends them, and where pink and blue overlap, purple appears.
